Lily Collins has been cast as Elizabeth Kloepfer, the girlfriend of notorious serial killer Ted Bundy in upcoming movie ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile’.

Lily Collins is set to star as the former girlfriend of notorious serial killer Ted Bundy in ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile’.

The 28-year-old actress will star opposite Zac Efron, 29, who has been cast to play Bundy in the upcoming movie, Variety reports.

Efron will lead the cast of the new movie by ‘Paradise Lost: The Child of Murders at Robin Hood Hills’ director Joe Berlinger who will tell the shocking true story of Bundy, who raped and murdered numerous young women during a killing spree in the 1970s that shocked America and the world.

Producer Nicolas Chartier said: “Efron can play both the depth and the charm that this guy had in equal measures which allowed him to manipulate these women in such a terrifying way.”

The Hollywood Reporter say the script will be written by Michael Werde and is set to explore the crimes of the killer through the eyes of Bundy’s long-time girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer – who will be played by Collins.

Following years of living in denial that Bundy could be responsible for the heinous crimes that plagues the states of Washington, Utah, Florida, Colorado, Oregon, Idaho and California, Kloepfer eventually turned him into the police but to her horror she only discovered the true extent of his actions until he began talking about them as he got close to his legally ordered execution.

On the afternoon of his execution, Bundy – who was a self-confessed necrophile as well as a murderer, rapist and kidnapper – claimed that hardcore pornography was responsible for inspiring his violent crimes in an interview he granted to James Dobson, a psychologist and founder of the Christian evangelical organisation Focus on the Family.
